Fomin (1919 -?) – Soviet sociologist, Doctor of Philosophy (1972), Professor.

Author of a number of scientific works.

Biography

Born on April 23, 1919 in the village of Kamyshino, Novo-Nikolaevsk province (on the territory of the modern Tatar district of the Novosibirsk region).

From 1937 to 1941 he studied at the Chelyabinsk Pedagogical Institute (now the South Ural State Humanitarian Pedagogical University), received the qualification of a history teacher. After graduating from the institute he the ranks of the Red Army. In August-October 1941 – a cadet at the Ryazan Infantry School (now the Ryazan Guards Higher Airborne Command School). During the Great Patriotic War, he served as a political worker, commander of a rifle platoon, deputy chief of staff of the 113th Aviation Regiment. He was wounded in battles near Moscow.

After demobilization, in 1946-1947, he worked as a history teacher at secondary school number 27 in the city of Chelyabinsk. In 1947-1948 he taught at the Department of Marxism-Leninism at the Chelyabinsk Medical Institute (now the South Ural State Medical University), as well as at the Chelyabinsk Pedagogical Institute. From 1949 to 1953 he worked on the party line: he was an instructor of the political department in Chelyabinsk, lecturer of the Central Committee of the Lithuanian Communist Party in . At the same time he taught at the Vilnius Pedagogical Institute.

In 1953-1960 he taught at the Tyumen Pedagogical Institute (in 1955 he defended his Ph.D. thesis on the topic „On the basis and superstructure of a socialist society" and from the same year – associate professor of the Department of Marxism-Leninism), in 1960-1970 – at the Tyumen Medical Institute (since 1963 – head of the department of Marxism-Leninism).

In 1970-1976, GM Fomin worked at the Taganrog Pedagogical Institute (now the A.P. Chekhov Taganrog Institute): in 1972 he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic "The Marxist-Leninist Solution to the Problems of Humanism and Its Implementation in the Practice of Socialism and Communist construction ", in 1974 he was awarded the academic title of professor.

In 1976-1987 – Professor, Head of the Department of Scientific Communism, Simferopol State University named after M. V. Frunze; in 1991-1996 – professor at the Crimean Academy of Environmental Construction; 1997-2000 – Vice-Rector for Science at the Institute of Economics and Management (Simferopol).

Awards

  • He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, 1st degree, as well as medals „For Military Merit", „For the Defense of Moscow", „For the Capture of Berlin", „For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945." In peacetime he was awarded medals „For the development of virgin lands", „For valiant labor", „For labor valor" and jubilee military awards.
  • Awarded the signs „Winner of Socialist Competition" and „For Excellent Achievements in Work".
  • Honored Worker of the Higher School of the Ukrainian SSR (1987).
